Storage Instructions

The bran layer contains natural oils, so brown rice has a shorter shelf life than white. Store sealed in a cool, dry place, or refrigerate after opening to extend freshness. Use within 12 months.

Cooking Instructions

1. 1Rinse 1 cup of rice under cold water.
2. 2Combine with 2¼ cups water and bring to a boil.
3. 3Cover, reduce to low, and simmer 40–45 minutes.
4. 4Rest, covered, for 10 minutes, then fluff. The grains should be tender with a slight chew.

Brown rice needs roughly twice the cooking time and half again the water of white rice.
